This is a new Edelbrock System II Intelligent Ignition Computer. If you're like I was, your question is “what the hell is that?” I bought this 10 years ago because I had never seen or heard of this before. This is the controller for the set up. Unlike the guy I bought it from, I'm NOT going to lie to you and tell you that you can call up Edelbrock and order the parts you need to install it on your ride. As I found out, you can't! Edelbrock probably made this while i blinked my eyes. They discontinued it apparently not too long after they started making it.
I'm always curious about anything I see that I've never seen before, especially if it's a manufacturer like Edelbrock. That's why I bought it. It appears to be like an MSD controller but not as successful. After I discovered that i couldn't install it, i put it in my cabinet o' “rare and unusual parts. It has started many a conversation in there as apparently nobody else has ever seen or heard of it. The box is a bit tired looking as it's been opened and closed a million times so people can look at it. It's obviously never been run and probably never will, but it is brand new. It's a great piece in a man cave where people will see it and go (yup!) “What the hell is that?”
Again, if you call up Edelbrock, you're not going to be able to get parts for it, but it is very cool in a man cave or use it as a wall hanger. I haven't read the instructions in about 10 years, but as I recall it has a rev limiter built into it. As I said, it's kind of like an MSD, only not. I have no idea of what it cost back “in the old days,” but I'd guess it cost quite a bit more than an an MSD. Maybe two million $, or maybe 0. Either way, buy it. Your lions den wants you to.
